Orlando and the Central
Florida area is much more than a magical kingdom, it’s a world-class golf
destination.

While you’re
here, taking in all the other great attractions and nightlife the area has to
offer I strongly recommend you play a round of Golf in the Florida
paradise.
Find out why so many of the PGA tours top players call Orlando
area their home. With plenty of world-class golf courses to choose from for
every level of the game, it is no wonder why Orlando is one of the major golf
destinations every year.
Listed below are a few choices
of the amazing golf course located with in an easy drive of the vacation
home.
ChampionsGate Golf Resort offers 36 holes designed by golf legend
Greg Norman and is the world headquarters of David Leadbetter Golf Academy. Ten
minutes from Walt Disney World, Champions Gate’s National course is an
impressive American-style layout in the best traditions of modern U.S golf
course design. The International course will be familiar to those who have
played the great old courses of Scotland and Ireland.
  The Golden
Bear Club at Keene’s Pointe is pure Nicklaus and pure golden. This Jack Nicklaus
Signature golf course, surrounded by pristine lakes, offers golfers impeccable
playing conditions and appeals to every level of player. The clubhouse boasts
the Golden Bear Grille, a fully stocked pro shop and PGA instructors.
At
the Celebration Golf Club you will enjoy one of Orlando’s finest golf
experiences, rated four stars in Golf Digests “Places to Play 2002” and “Top 200
Service Facilities in North America.” This Robert Trent Jones –and Robert Trent
Jones Jr. designed 18-hole 6,772 yard, par 72 championship-caliber course
demands accurate approach shots and consistent putting.
 You have not
played golf in Orlando if you have not played Orange County National Golf
Center. This 45-hole golfing facility is truly astonishing. The two championship
courses are Crooked Cat and Panther Lake. I would really recommend warming up on
Crooked Cat first, a links style course before taking on Panther Lake. Orange
County National is the inspiration and creation of Phil Ritson the golf guru to
countless top instructors and professional. National has also gained fame as the
“practice tee” where Tiger Woods filmed his famous Nike commercial, in which he
bounces a golf ball off his iron several times before hitting it 200 yards down
course. The clubhouse and pro shop is very impressive and only out performed by
the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff.
We would like
to thank and recognize Central Florida Golfer’s Guide and Lihn’s Golf Guide for
all their guidebook’s in-depth knowledge and detail of Central Florida golf.
